DEOS Partners with University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust to Launch Community Mobile X-Ray Vehicle

Taunton, Somerset, 27^th November 2025– A pioneering partnership between DEOS Consultancy and the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is set to transform community diagnostics this December. The collaboration introduces a newly acquired Nissan “X-Ray car”, equipped with DEOS’s secure satellite connectivity, bringing hospital-grade imaging services directly to patients' homes.

This initiative marks a significant shift towards "hospital-at-home" care, allowing vulnerable patients to receive essential X-ray and imaging services without the stress or health risks associated with travelling to a hospital.

The success of this mobile service relies on the ability to transmit high-resolution medical images securely and “live” from any location. DEOS will provide the critical satellite infrastructure, ensuring that the Trust’s X-Ray car has a resilient, high-bandwidth connection regardless of local cellular signal strength. This allows radiologists and film readers to review images in real-time and make immediate diagnostic decisions.

Beyond patient convenience, the initiative promises substantial financial benefits for the NHS. Analysis estimates a saving of nearly £800 per interaction.

Starting this December, the service will deploy across the North Midlands region. The X-Ray car is a compact, agile unit designed to access residential streets and driveways easily, unlike traditional large medical trailers. The initiative is expected to free up hospital capacity, reduce waiting times, and minimise the need for non-emergency patient transport.
