The DSPT is an annual self-assessment mandated by NHS England for all organisations that process patient data or access NHS systems. It measures performance against the National Data Guardian’s ten data security standards. By achieving the "Standards Exceeded" status, DEOS Consultancy has demonstrated that its data security practices go beyond the mandatory requirements, providing an extra layer of assurance to its NHS partners and patients.

Version 8 of the toolkit, which covers the 2025-26 period, introduced strengthened requirements for IT suppliers, including more rigorous evidence for asset management, business continuity, and leadership accountability. Achieving this top-tier status indicates that DEOS not only meets these enhanced mandatory controls but also maintains the Cyber Essentials Plus certification—a prerequisite for the "Standards Exceeded" designation.
